Dahl Roti

Ingredients

  • 250g Split peas (wash and soak for few hours)

  • 4 cup Plain flour

  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala

  • 1/2 tsp Jeera (cumin) powder

  • 1/4 tsp Chilli powder

  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Make a dough with flour then leave it to stand for 2 hours

  2. Rinse the Split peas and boil it until Dahl crumbles up

  3. Drain the dahl and spread it on a tray and leave to dry

  4. Grind the dahl in a food processor

  5. Add garam masala, cumin powder, chilli powder, salt and mix into the dahl

  6. Divide the dough into 12 portions

  7. Roll each into 4 inch diameter

  8. Oil and put 1 tblsp of Dahl in each

  9. Make into a ball and roll the ball to 8 inch diameter

  10. Cook them on the Chappati Tawa (turn and oil both sides)


Serve with Boiling Chicken Curry
